Bees flower

In my backyard we have a garden that is full of these flowers i'm not sure what kind of flower it is but I do know that the bees seem to like them a lot. I used my macro lens for this photo and i could of got closer but I really liked this angle for the shot so I left it at that

Long Flight home

Its that time of the year again when the Monarchs fly back to Mexico to spend the winter there well the rest of us are stuck in the cold winter. I took this photo when I was out for a walk at a local conservation area. The butterfly was just fluttering around some flowers probably getting some nectar before it joined up with some other butterfly's for the flight south.

Road at sunset

Last night I was out driving around with my camera looking for things to take photos of and i was driving down this road just when the sun was setting so i pulled over and got out onto the middle of the road and fixed my settings and go this picture with no tripod. I like the big trees coming over the road and the shadows they produce also.

Hunting camp

This past weekend I was up at my family's hunting camp which is oddly named because no one does any hunting up there anyway and really its just a piece of land with a old mouse infested cabin on it surrounded by lakes and crown land. On the way up there we have to go down a forest access road to get to the camp and that is where I got the picture of the moose. We were driving over a beaver damn and my uncle said look a moose so I said stop and got out to take a picture of it. The picture of the mushroom is also on the road but I took that when we were out walking. It looks like the mushroom has a walking stick which i find amusing. The last picture is looking over the main lake with with the dock during the sunset, which happened to be the only time the sun was out for the whole trip.

Birds at the visitor center

At the visitor center in the Pinery they had a bunch of bird feeders set up and they attracted a lot of different birds to the feeders one of them is the yellow bird I'm not sure what kind because I think its to big to be a american goldfinch  so I'm not sure what it is but the second bird coming down the tree is a nuthatch looking for food likes bugs and things like that the nuthatch later flew to a feeder and ate from there.

Grand bend

One day well camping my family went down to Grand Bend to see the strip and the beach on the beach there is a pier going out into the water and the beach was red flagged that day because the waves were so big and crashing into the pier and bouncing back making a weird square like body of flat water between the two different waves.

First Macro Photos

Well we were away camping my birthday happened and I'm now 17. For my birthday I got a Canon 100 mm macro lens and now I have a tlephoto lens,a macro lens and an 18-55mm everyday lens as I like to call it. These two photos were taken with my macro lens the first one being a grasshopper that was on our dinning room tent and the second being a small pee on a rough sunflower that were very abundant in the woods at the Pinery.
