My name is Iain Leitch, and this is my photography and outdoor adventure blog. Here you’ll find images of birds, landscapes, trees, lakes, cities, trains, and just about everything in between—alongside stories from the places those photos were taken. I’m inspired by a wide range of subjects, and this blog is a reflection of who I am, what I enjoy, and how I experience the outdoors.
In addition to photography, I share backcountry canoe trip reports, frontcountry campsite reviews, and travel-related content aimed at helping others explore new places with confidence. Most of the photos and stories come from my travels, though you’ll also see plenty from around Ottawa, where I’m currently based.
I’m originally from Stratford, Ontario, which is where I first discovered and developed my love for photography. That passion has grown alongside my interest in camping, canoeing, and exploring Canada’s wild and not-so-wild places. The photo below shows me standing beside one of my photographs displayed at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa.
My work has been published three times by Canadian Geographic. Currenlty I use a Sony Alpha a6600 and my iPhone 16 Pro to take all my photos.
