Nova Scotia Day 2: The Ocean Day 2

The second day aboard train number 14 the Ocean, started off quite eventfully. I woke up around 5:30am to the emergency brakes going off. I didn't really think much of it and figured that we had stopped due to a broken-down freight train in front of us. Instead, it turns out part of the rail was broken in half.  This meant that we could not move forwards, or backwards because we might derail. So after a very long wait and a lot of back and forth between CN and VIA, they decide to move all the passengers to the back half of the train and try to move the front half of the train over the broken rail at 1km/h. This worked, which meant that once the first half went over the broken rail, the train stopped, all of the passengers moved to the front of the train and we moved the back half of the train over the fractured rail at 1km/h. After that eventful morning, we finally got moving again around 12:30pm. This was about a 7.5-hour delay which meant we did not get into Halifax until 3...

Murphy's Point Provincial Park

Murphy's Point Provincial Park is located right near Perth Ontario, about 1.5 hours from Ottawa. This makes it a great weekend getaway for a short camping trip which is exactly what I took advantage of. Check out the following photos from the camping trip. This park had a lot to offer.  Point Trail Unknown Mushrooms View from the Point American Mink American Toad Unknown Flower My favourite photo from the trip. Hunting Camp: Night

This is part 2/4 in the series called Hunting Camp. This part of the series focuses on the stars and the night sky. The Hunting Camp is just south of Algonquin park which means that the night sky is amazing. Without any city lights to interfere it is possible to see almost everything.  The first photo is just a normal star picture that I took overlooking the main lake that we use. The bright star down near the bottom right is Jupiter, you are also able to see Saturn and Mars in this picture too but they are over on the bottom left and not as bright. It is also possible to see the milky way on the left side of the picture too. The bright glow is what I think is city lights coming from possibly Bancroft or maybe even as far away as Ottawa or Toronto but I'm not too sure. The second picture is a star trails one. This one photo is over 200 photos stacked on top of each other using StarStaX. I had to crop this photo on the left due to the sheer amount of planes. This...
