Day three St Kitts

The second day of my cruise was to the island of St Kitts. We got off the boat and went to find a taxi to go to the beach. St Kitts is an island that was formed by a volcano and there isn't that many beaches on the main part of the island but the island has this peninsula that has many nice beaches so we went there. At the beach we saw monkeys that roam wild on the island as you can see the the two pictures.  At the same beach above the monkeys there was these trees that had little pink flowers on them and this bird which im not sure what kind it is was sucking out all the pollen from the flowers. This was on top of a hill overlooking the peninsula on the left is the Atlantic ocean and on the right is the Caribbean sea. the colour variation is very noticeable and in the background the island that is covered by clouds in the island of Nevis which is the other island that makes up the country St Kitts and Nevis. This was our cruise ship leaving the island and...

Day two St Thomas

The next day we docked at St Thomas which is part of the American Virgin islands. We took a taxi to the main shopping area and went exploring the town is full of these little cute alleys that have all these high end expensive stores and restaurants.  But do look very nice still. This next picture was taken on the top floor of the cruise ship I was on i know the trees aren't in focus but i was paying more attention to the water and how stereotypical the water looks. This last picture is of use leaving St Thomas. It shows the landscape well and shows were people live and where people do not live you can see its spine which would be the mountains and the many houses that dot the sides of the mountains and of course you can see the private islands.

First island of my hoilday

For my March break i went on a cruise. The first day was on the island of Porto Rico because the baot didn't leave till the next day. We stayed at a nice hotel and the hotel had a a lot of these black birds flying around the pool. Right outside my room was a tree which some of the birds were in and that is how i got the first picture. We went for a walk down to the beach the day we were going to board the boat because we had some time to kill and it was a very nice beach but it was very windy and there was no chairs and it looked as if the tide was coming in so we deiced to just take some pictures and go back to the hotel. On the way back to the hotel we were looking at houses as we were walking by and i saw a flash of movement going down the wall of one of the houses and as i got closer i saw it was a little lizard. I got a nice picture focusing mostly on its eyes to bring out the colours.

Hawk!!!

Im coming home from school and as I am driving down the road I see my neighbors tree. I see something sitting on the tree. I think my neighbor has put some weird hawk statue up trying to keep the birds out of the tree. I see it is a real hawk. I get my phone out and take some crappy pictures. I open my door slowly and leave it open I slowly walk up to the house and open the door. Once I'm inside i run to my camera get it out of its bag and take off the lens cap. I run towards the door and flip my camrea on. I have the setting at whatever it was last time. I hope it is okay. I have my camera on auto focus but it seems to be taking forever to focus. I finally start snapping away. I want as many pictures as possible. The hawk fly's away. I look at my pictures and see they are amazing. I think it is a Immature Sharp-Shinned Hawk or a Immature Coppers Hawk

Bridge and Ducks

I was in need of some photos so i deiced to go out for a walk down by the lake which is all frozen over. I got this photo of the bridge that crosses over a bit of the lake and i got some pictures of ducks as I was walking along the lake on the ice they were swimming in a little open pool and then i started talking photos of them and they just walked right over to me and sat down not a meter away from me.

American Kestrel

I was out for a drive and for the longest time I've wanted a picture of a bird of prey and i finally got one. The bird you see here in an American Kestrel it is smallest bird of prey in Canada. I found this bird sitting on a telephone wire on a side road when i was driving. I saw a small bird and though it was just a pigeon but then as we passed it i saw the distinct color variations on the bird and relished it was some kind of bird of prey.

The morning of frost

When i woke up and looked out my window all i saw was white overnight there had been a lot of frost and everything was covered in it, In the first photo i had to go start to car to defrost the windows and i happened to see that the sun was perfectly in lined with the road so i rushed inside to get my camera and i go this in return. In the next 4 photos at school the teacher keep on bugging us to go outside and take pictures so i finally did and got some pretty nice frost shots. In the third and fourth photos i think i showed the flacks of the frost really nicely

Reflection

This is another one of my photos from my recent Grand Rapids trip. In Grand Rapids they have a lot of tall buildings are most of them are made out of glass which makes for pretty good reflections like in this one you can see the outline of the building perfectly with very little warping.

Backyard feeder

If you are new to photography and you want something to shoot that moves all you have to do is put up a backyard feeder. It drawn in many types of birds and they are always moving and coming back you you are bound to get some great photos.   In this photo I got a black eyed junco trying to land at my feeder in full spreed. This is a chickadee that landed on the post that holds up my feeder. This one is another chickadee as they are the most popular bird this time of year that was in my hedge.

Light box

I recently went on a trip to Grand Rapids in Michigan so ill be posting mostly pictures from my trip for the next little bit. Here in this picture is a huge box with many designee on it with a single light inside of it and you can see how cool it looks with the designee on the wall.
