First flower of spring

The first flower of 2015 has sprung in my front law. Surprisingly it didn't appear in the garden but in the middle of the grass, which may be a bit trouble sum as we need to cut the grass. The flower hasn't bloomed yet as you can see but it will soon enough, once it becomes warmer.

Day six and seven

Day six was spent on the island of Curacao which is part of the kingdom of the Netherlands. On this island we went on an island tour. The first photo is showing the size of our cruise ship compared to the rest of the houses on the island. I took this photo just as we were starting to go over the queen Juliana bridge. This was taken on the southern end of the island. We had stopped at a little souvenir store and they had this amazing view overlooking a bay and the hills in the background were they are mining potash.  This is the queen Emma bridge. It is made out of wood and floats on pontoons. When i went there they were doing construction to the bridge so it was docked. This is queen Juliana bridge showing the huge bridge and it is decorated in the colours of the flag of Curacao. I took this photo as we were crossing the bay on the ferry. The next two photos are of the floating market in the town. The market sells a bunch of fruit and fish and handmade stuf

Day four and five

Day four was a day at sea so i did not get many good photos there. Day five was in Aruba which is owned by the Netherlands. We got off the ship and went to Eagle beach. Eagle beach is the typical Caribbean beach blue water with white sand as you can see here.   In this photo i was playing with my shutter speed to try and see if i could catch the waves in a still and i think i did a pretty good job. I used my 300mm lens to get this picture of the pelican. I was trying to get a picture of them diving into the water but that is hard to do as it is near impossible to know where they will dive, so instead i settled for a picture of it in flight.  This is a picture of Aruba from my boat on the twelfth deck.
