Pinery Provincial Park and Bayfield

This was meant to be uploaded yesterday but I did not have enough time to, so here it is today. The first two photos are of the Ausable river channel in Pinery Provincial Park. I took them from a hiking trail that goes right down to the water. This a unique ecosystem that supports many different animals and the Pinery does a good job protecting the ecosystem. The next three photos are from Bayfield and are of the sunset we went to see on the summer solstice which was June 21. The first photo is of my girlfriend on the stairs heading down to the beach, with the sun just starting to set. The second photo is of the beach and water with the setting sun in the background. and the last photo is of both of us at the sunset just before it finally sets. I used the Nikon app to take that photo with my phone controlling my camera.

A River, a Great Blue Heron, and a Church

In my last post, I talked about my summer photography goal, and I am proud to say that I have completed that goal of getting a picture of a Great Blue Heron, but before I talk about that I want to talk about the first photo in this post.  The first photo is of the Thames River just north of St. Marys. There use to be a bridge crossing the river but the bridge was taken down and now it makes for a really nice spot to take photos at. I want to try to get a sunset photo at this location. The next two photos are of a Great Blue Heron. I was showing my girlfriend around Stratford and we saw one down at the river, but I didn't have my camera on me at the moment. We went back to the house picked up the camera and then went back to the spot where we saw the bird. The bird wasn't there so we went up to a pedestrian bridge and we found the bird on the other side. The first photo is of it just sitting on a log probably looking for food or just resting and the next photo is of it in fligh

The flower and a bee

There really isn't much reason to explain me not posting lately other than that I have been working a lot and have really not had any motivation to go and take pictures of anything.  I have set myself a photography goal this summer. The goal is to take a picture of a Great Blue Heron either standing still or in flight. I have set myself photography goals in the past. Last summer my goal was to take a picture of a deer which I did. In this post, is two pictures. One is a flower in my front garden which I think is one of my better pictures and the second photo is a bumblebee in mid-flight and some thyme flowers that the bee is heading towards.

Ottawa

Recently I went up to Ottawa to see my girlfriend and during my time there I visited most of the main tourist spots in Ottawa. The first picture is the parliament buildings. The second and third pictures are from inside the National Art Gallery of Canada. The second picture shows the architecture inside well the third picture shows off how the exhibits are set up. The fourth picture is of the Chateau Laurier which I think is my favorite picture I took during my trip. The next two pictures are from the Museum of Nature showing off the giant jellyfish they have in the front window that the museum is known for. The last picture is showing off the War Memorial and the two soldiers who guard the tomb of the unknown soldiers.
