Wasp, Trent University and the winning photo

I have not posted anything at all this September and that is because I've been at Trent University which is what the first picture is of. It is in my mind one of the most beautiful schools in Canada and I am proud to call it my home for the next four years. The next photo is a wasp that I took just outside my dorm window and touched up a bit. The last photo is one that I've already posted but I feel like I should post it again as it just won the "Youth Category" of the Canadian Wildlife Photography Of The Year Competition hosted by Canadian Geographic. The link to see the winning photos is  here .

Final day in Newfoudland

During the final day of my trip to Newfoundland I went back to St. Johns. I went up to the basilica that is in the city. That is what the second and fourth pictures are of. I then went to Fort Amherst which is an old fort at the entrance to the harbor that has now fallen into ruin but there is a working lighthouse there. That was my holiday in Newfoundland and I hope you enjoyed reading my posts about it but I am now going off to university so I probably won't be able to post as often so I do apologize.

Newfoundland Day 7

On day seven of my trip, I went hiking again. I went on the Buckley's Hill trail which leads you to Buckley's cove which is a walk in campsite that you can stay at. The first three pictures are just looking out over the beach from the trail. the next picture is of the stream at the end of the trail. I did a long exposure on it with the mini tripod I always carry with me and with a neutral density filter. I had the shutter open for about 13 seconds with and F stop of 22 and ISO 200. The next three photos are looking out from the look out on Blue Hill which is the highest point in the park.

Newfoundland Day 6

On my sixth day of my Newfoundland trip, we left Bonavista and moved on to the town of Glovertown which is the gateway to Terra Nova national park. The first picture is of the shores near the B&B we stayed in. The second picture is of English Harbor which is a small village. The third picture is of a stream flowing into English Harbor. The last three pictures are from a look out on Orche Hill trail in Terra Nova National park.

Newfoundland day 5

For day number 5 of my Newfoundland trip, we had a day in the town of Bonavista. When I woke up it was raining so we went for a little drive to see what there was to see and we first went to Cape Bonavista Lighthouse which is a National Historic Site but I did not get any pictures there because of the wind and the rain. Next, we went to Dungeon Provincial Park which is a pair of sea caves that you can see from above which is what the first picture is of. Next, we went down the road to Ellistion and Maberly which are the root cellar capitals of the world. That is what the second picture is of. The next two pictures are from after lunch when it finally stopped raining I was able to take a couple pictures of the town of Bonavista. The first of the two pictures is the Orange house there and the second of the two is the harbor. I then went for a drive to some surrounding villages and the next four pictures are from abandon buildings there, looking over Tickle Cove and of a church in Red Cl...
